What Inspires My Photography

Just before sunset on April, 1989, a photographer arrived at Hualapai Indian Reservation where I had planned to sleep in my car for the night, wanting to experience more of its beauty in the early morning light. During a long talk under starlit skies, he told me how disturbed and horrified he had been by all he saw and experienced during the Vietnam War. So he could make peace within himself, and as his way way of restoring positive energy the the world, he was traveling across North America to take a beautiful scenic photo for every American killed in the war.

His quest impressed me so much that I am now inspired to share the beauty of the places I have been to help balance out the days when news of violence, war, greed and corruption becomes overwhelming. May they help bring you to the peaceful center I experience while immersed in natural beauty with my camera.

Also, don’t miss the photo essay of Molesworth Station, a remote high country farm in New Zealand’s South Island where I lived for nearly a year within breathtaking panoramic views.
